The Seraph of the End (Owari no Seraph) anime adaptsDaisuke Furuya, Takaya Kagami, and Yamato Yamamoto's Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign manga. The story takes place in a world where an unknown virus has killed the entire human population except for children. Those children were then enslaved by vampires. The manga centers on Yūichirō Hyakuya, a human who dreams of becoming strong enough to kill all vampires.
The first season premiered on April 4, and Funimation streamed the first season as it aired in Japan. Funimation announced that it will stream the second season.
Furuya, Yamamoto and Kagami launched the dark fantasy manga series in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine in fall 2012.Shueisha published the manga's ninth compiled book volume last Friday.
Kodansha published the Owari no Seraph: Ichinose Guren, 16-sai no Catastrophe (Seraph of the End: Guren Ichinose, Catastrophe at 16) prequel light novel's fifth volume on April 2. Vertical licensed the novel series for North America, and plans to release them as an omnibus.
