Ryohei Kimura, Ryota Ohsaka Join Haikyu!! Second Season's Cast


The "Haikyu!! Matsuri!" event announced at the Pacifico Yokohama convention center on Sunday that Ryohei Kimura(The Seven Deadly Sins' Hauser, Irregular at Magic High School's Hanzō) and Ryota Ohsaka (Show By Rock!!'s Kai,Knights of Sidonia's Nagate) are joining the Haikyu!! Second Season's anime's cast. Kimura will play Kōtarō Bokuto, and Ohsaka will voice Keiji Akaashi. The voice actors appeared and talked at the event and recited lines.

The event also announced that SPYAIR will return to perform the television anime's opening theme song "I'm a Believer." The group appeared at the event to announce the song. SPYAIR performed the opening theme song "Imagination" for the first half of the anime's first season.

Ayumu Murase (voice of Shōyō Hinata), Kaito Ishikawa (Tobio Kageyama), Kouki Uchiyama (Kei Tsukishima), Sōma Saitō (Tadashi Yamaguchi), Sumire Morohoshi (Hitoka Yachi), Yuu Hayashi(Ryūnosuke Tanaka), Nobuhiko Okamoto (Yū Nishinoya), and Toshiki Masuda (Chikara Ennoshita) also appeared at the event and participated in talk and variety corners.

The anime's second season will premiere in Japan in October. Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed in May that Sumire Morohoshi (Aikatsu!'s Ichigo Hoshimiya, Tokyo Ghoul's Hinami Fueguchi) will join the second season's cast as Hitoka Yachi, one of the managers of Karasuno High's volleyball club. The issue also revealed a new visual for the second season.


The tagline on the visual reads, "Let's go, Tokyo!!"

The first season of the anime adaptation of Haruichi Furudate's volleyball manga premiered in April 2014. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for North American digital and home video release, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.

The anime franchise is getting two compilation films on July 3 and September 18, and a stage play adaptation will open in mid-November in Tokyo before traveling to Osaka and Tagajo.
